Second third: the luck of Banderillas

After the authority has authorized the picadors to enter the square, they place themselves opposed diametrically, one in the opposed end to the bullpens, the other one next to that door.

Botero´s Picador .

The picador goes on horse, with a special short jacket called chaquetilla embroidered in gold, a rigid hat of beaver hair called castoreņo, and his legs protected by the irons. The horse is protected by a great breastplate of cushions and has his right eye covered.

The bull is pinched with a long stick that finishes in an end called PUYA that has the form of a triangular pyramid, 29mm high and 20mm wide at the base of this triangle. A crossbeam avoids the goad from entering the bull's neck any more than is necessary. There are two forms of pinching: FRONTWARDS and SIDEWAYS.
