The Younger Crowd
The city changes its face gradually with the passing of the nite. That's the reason why almost all leisure locales show two sides: from 19:00 they fill up with youngsters between thirteen and sixteen years old and from 23:00 onwards it's time for them to back down and give way to an adult audience.
The most common activity with the youngest nitecrawlers is throwing a "botellón," which basically consists of you and a handful of friends gathering together in a park in order to make liquid offerings to your personal god (or goddess) of debauchery. It is also acceptable to fire it up at a friend's house whose parents are out of town for the weekend. Without a doubt, this is the cheapest way, since buying the necessary drinks down at the town wine shop is always more affordable than going directly to the bar.
Kicking it in a park near all the discos and bars is something that you're bound to see any given weekend from September to May. Mixing drinks in a 2 liter plastic bottle and spitting out sunflower seeds while trying to meet and greet every memebr of the opposite sex that cruises by is the msot common weekend activitiy for those of 14 to 18 years of age.
Once they tire of the park, if ever, or simply decide to head indoors, most head to discos pumping music at deafening levels. Best to know that discos have an evening timetable for young people, which usually is from 19:00 to 23:30 and whose ticket costs half as much as the nite price. Some even offer free access in the afternoon.
