Kapital: The Mega Disco of the Capital
Every large city, and especially any city that claims to be a capital of Iberian night life, must have a flashy mega-discotheque that impresses upon its guests a barrage of sensational stimulation. From Kapital vibrations flow enough to satisfy the tastes of even the ultimate cybernetic generation.
Have no doubts that if any disco in Madrid deserves to be classified as the best, because of its grandiosity or bewildering atmosphere, Kapital would be it. Whether or not you like its music, its politics, its prices, its hours, its djs, its arrangement, or whatever, you cannot ignore the presence of Grupo Kapital (owners of this and other huge clubs like La Vieja Estación or Komité ). One must have admiration for the bold endeavour they attempted from the moment they acquired control of this club (which used to be known as the Titanic if you remember it?) and how they converted it into the largest and most impressive disco of the capital city, Madrid.
Whenever out-of-towners come to Madrid they always want to spend at least a short time at this type of club. And so, where do you think people from Albacete, Sevilla, Extremadura or Gijón who come to the city to experience the Madrid nightlife unavoidably find themselves their first night here…? Kapital! A few might try to criticize you if you're often found there, mainly because you are seemingly more likely to find non-madridleños there than natives. But just the same, true madridleños really are neither rare nor sparse at Kapital. In reality then you have to admit that Kapital is really spectacular!
So what is it really that is so great about this place? Well to start off there are seven floors, a characteristic not easily found in the clubs of Madrid or in the rest of Europe. On top of just that, there are three dance floors, all with varying surroundings and a considerable amount of enlivening go-gos, not to mention the rhythm of a disco atmosphere.
Surely they have made use of this huge space in order to be able to give it varying settings that would also respond to the public demand for new and different evening or late-night environments. For example La Planta Principal (Ground Floor) covers mainly Tecno progresivo (progressive techno) during the evening sessions, so that they can use Música House during the late-night. Then at the Segunda Planta Second Floor one can find a Karaoke boutique. If you're not into Karaoke, then try the Tercera or Cuarta Planta (Third or Fourth floor) , where you will find more funky music.
Alter this you can continue still to find more floors and discover new things. After dancing to all that funk, you might want to take advantage of a spot to relax, chat for a bit with friends and recuperate. So here you can skip up to the seventh floor where there is a terrace with a snack bar. Have any drink you please here, or eat if you're hungry, and get a breath of fresh air, while you take a break from the dense crowds inside.
Alter this little break, get back down to the Quinta planta (Fifth Floor) , where you left off. Here you can enjoy some Spanish music, salsa, and any big hits. Keep dancing, but you'll find everything here much more relaxed, be able to joke around, and have a laugh and fleeting memories along with the music. Before you start to get too tired, maybe while you start to think of heading home, you have to make your way to the last floor, the Sexta planta (Sixth Floor) . Here you'll find the audiovisual zone so you can loosen up and actually visualize the projections while you ponder. Should you go back to bed or continue the festivities in some other spot in this metropolis?
Before ending the description of this mega-discotheque, we'll tell you about the DJ's who are entrusted with creating the musical feel of this place.
