In Madrid we have one of the best commuter train networks, with a renown punctuality and operational effectiveness. Comfortable, safe and climatized, they can be a great help to you at the time of travel, mainly to the suburban towns outside the capital.
Similar to other means of transportation, if you are going it to use on weekdays and during rush hour (7:30 to 9:30) prepare yourself to be squished and pushed. This is occurs daily in the capital.

Renfe (national train operator in Spain) offers a nearly unlimited number of options so that you can do whatever you want to do and there'll be an offer to accomodate your needs. Here you have a few of them:

| University Trimester Pass |
Of daily use , for unlimited trips. Only for Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad de Alcala de Henares' students. |
| Pass 1, 3, 5 |
It is a pass that allows traveling for 1,3, or 5 consecutive days with no limitation of trips. Prices vary according to the days for which the pass has been acquired. |
