Climate
Defined by the institute of meteorology, it is extreme. The most frequent winds arrive from the river basin of the southern edge. The rivers of the north cool the warm air of the river basin while those of the south increase humidity. Their temperatures range from a 5C average in January to 24C in August.
Usually, there are three days of snow per year between December and January, and following the averages, there are 130 of bright, blue sky days and 63 days overcast. What matters to us: if you are going to come to Madrid it is advisable that you prepare yourself for the heat in summer and the cold of winter. (Of course these are relative to your own home climate.) But Madrid's enchantment will never be lost.
Madrid relies on rain to fill its main dams, such as the ones in Atazar de Lozoya and Valmayor de Guadarrama, with the few days a year of rain. You will never notice a dearth of water in the city, but Madrid is not the best place for most crops.
